Our skin is one of the major organs in our body, but unlike most of them, our skin is constantly exposed to a variety of damaging external factors that cause it to age faster and develop more problems. Today's society has an obsession with youth, and with TV and print ads showing only the most beautiful and perfect skin, we've unintentional risen the standards of perfection and made it really difficult for people to achieve. There are a lot of tricks used by skin experts to fight back age in our skin. Most of these techniques have been used since ancient times, all with the same goal of preventing wrinkles and making sure the skin look young and healthy.

Fighting back age on our skin need not be a difficult thing. Following these steps will make sure your skin will look younger and healthier - not to mention more radiant and inviting to touch.

For an Instant Younger Look, Use and Ice Wash

This trick is very easy to do yet it is one of the most effective ways to rejuvenate the skin and help it achieve a healthier glow. All you have to do is get two ice cubes, run them through your face gentle. Be sure your face evenly gets the cooling sensation from the ice; this will relax your facial muscles and relieve the tension on your face. This will also help in improving the blood flow to your skin making it look healthier and rejuvenated.

Increase your Omega 3 Intake

Omega 3, a substance found in healthy fish meat, is the new fountain of youth according to most skin experts. Onega 3 helps in almost all functions in our body, from improving neural impulses to properly regulating our skin's lipid levels, ensuring that our skin gets properly dehydrated to prevent premature aging. Taking more omega 3 rich foods can improve our health a great deal - and with that improving the health of our skin.

Drink More Water

Fighting age from showing on our skin can be tough. Good thing one of the solutions that can help us is something we have plenty of. Drinking plenty of water is very necessary if you want to win the war against wrinkles. Our skin hydration mechanism is greatly influenced by body's supply of water. Water is one of the basic substances our body is made of and constantly renewing our supple greatly improves our skin's chances if repairing and maintaining its youthful glow. Drinking eight (8) glasses of water a day can prevent dehydration and promote cell regeneration, to leads to having firmer skin with a youthful glow.

Moisturize your Skin Regularly

Moisturizing is very important is fighting the signs of aging. Find an oil-free, non-comedogenic moisturizer to keep your skin soft and supple to the touch. People with oily faces tend to skip the application of moisturizers but what they don't know is that there is a big difference between oil moisture from our skin and clean moisture that most moisturizers in the market offer. Sebum, or the oil found in our faces, can clog our pores when mixed with bacteria and dead skin debris accumulated it the skin's surface.

Finding an oil-free moisturizer that fits your skin type can greatly reduce the risk of clogged pores and at the same time, gently maintain the optimum level of moisture in our skin. I cannot stress enough the importance of moisturizers in preventing wrinkles. It is VERY important in fighting the signs of aging. There are a lot of moisturizers in the market that can cater to any skin type, don't be afraid to try them but be sure to pick one that oil-free. Moisturize everyday and always apply sunblock cream under your makeup if you think you'll be exposed to the sun.

Avoid Stress and Meditate

Meditation can greatly improve the way our body regulates itself. In most people meditation has been proven to create inner peace and well-being. Avoiding stress and meditating can greatly improve our chances in fighting wrinkles because they can greatly relax our body and improve our immune system - this is a common belief among monks and scientists who study the effects of meditation. With meditation, one can even regulate his/her body temperature, which is something previously believed to be only an autonomic process.

Relaxing really helps in so many ways and in fighting the negative effects of aging, one can truly use the benefits meditation can offer. Skin experts have noticed that people who meditate regularly tend to have an aura of peace that radiates from them. Though it may sound like pop psychology, but studies have shown that meditating, even for just a few minutes each day, can help the body maintain equilibrium - something that strengthens our body and help it cope when a stressful situation occurs.

Aging, which brings about many physical and emotional changes that take its toll on the body, can be easily combated if we are able to experience regular moments of peace and relaxation. And don't forget that frowning causes more wrinkles than smiling. So one of the best kept secrets to fighting the war against aging - don't let it get to you, sit back, relax, and enjoy whatever's on the TV (it would also help a lot if you had an anti-aging mask on while you do this).
