20 Benefits Of Cardiovascular Activity

I love cardio. I know I'm in the minority on that one! Cardiovascular training can seem repetitive, hard and even boring. If you can stay motivated with a reminder of the benefits, then it might not seem so bad. You may even like it!

20 Reasons For Cardiovascular Fitness

1. Instant feel-good. You will feel invigorated for hours after training

2. Train your heart. The heart is a muscle and cardio is its strength training

3. Weight loss. There is no better way to shed some pounds!

4. Increased endurance and stamina. Get through your day without a cat-nap.

5. Increased confidence right away!

6. Healthy lungs

7. Helps weight lifting results show through. Burn that little layer of fat sitting on top of the muscle!

8. Increases metabolism for up to 24 hours

9. Improves immune system. Being sick less equals more days to work out!

10. Reduces stress

11. Improves circulation. You will be less sore after weight training

12. Increased bone density. You LOSE bone density as you age. Prevent this!

13. Sleep better

14. Relief from depression and anxiety

15. Reduced risk of some cancers

16. Reduced risk of heart disease

17. Lower blood pressure

18. Decreased resting heart rate. The slower your heart beats while at rest, the more beats it has left to beat!

19. Lowers cholesterol

20. Live longer

Cardio exercise should last from 20-45 minutes. Go easy when you start and ease in to higher intensities. Work your way up to 2-4 sessions a week for all of the wonderful benefits of cardiovascular training.

Once you get in to the habit, you will wonder why you did not start sooner!
