Internet Marketing Success Requires Knowing the Difference Between Features Benefits For Your Sale
If you are looking for internet marketing success you need to know how to do it right. People make money from buyers who feel connected to products and know that these products are going to work for them. So how does a seller need to market his or her product so that it reflects these points? The answer is easy - a sales page. A sales page sells your product if you set it up correctly. The two main characteristics that your sales page needs are features and benefits. Many sales page writers do not know the difference between features and benefits and this can greatly affect whether or not you are able to sell your product.
A feature is what your product tangibly offers you. If you are selling a sewing kit it includes string, needles and a pair of scissors. With this kit you will be able to sew up patches in your clothes if they rip. A feature is anything that the product will physically offer to the client or the person who is buying your product. When you begin to write your sales page you will notice that you use sentences such as "this product has" and "this product is". When a product has or is something that means that what you have listed is a feature for your product. However, you cannot stop at the features of your product you need to have benefits that complement your product in order to achieve a sell.
A benefit is what your product intangibly offers you. Following the sewing kit example, a sewing kit can offer you a sense of relaxation in case you rip your shirt during a private event. You will be able to sew your shirt making you feel comfortable. This is a benefit. A feature would be that the sewing kit is portable and the benefit would be that the sewing kit is convenient. The benefits are what connects your product to your potential client and works on his or her feelings directly. Benefits are always explained in the form of how buying this product will help the potential buyer.
Buyers want to know the benefits that they will receive from your product because this is the emotional selling point. Buyers are looking to buy so you have to give them the reason to buy from you. Many products offer the same features, so why do some sellers sell more than others; it is due to how they explain the benefits.
The benefits of your product or service are the ultimate selling factor. Buyers want their problems solved and they need the confidence from your sales page that you are going to solve their problems with your product. You cannot simply guarantee this. You need to express it. With a great combination of features and benefits on your sales page, you will be able to sell anything and you are on your way to internet marketing success.
To your journey on the road to internet success!
