If you have been trying to make money online, you have probably been scammed a few times... maybe more. I have seen quite a few mistakes that people make when trying to start out in Internet Marketing. What happens is, you do a search for making money online, and you get a flood of results. There are a few listings which catch your eye - and they make outrageous claims of making a tremendous amount of money as quickly as possible. So, you end up buying a useless e-book that you think has a lot of information in it, only to find out that the information is not very accurate.

Let's say you found a product that you want to sell as an affiliate. Usually, the website has an affiliate link at the bottom of the page. Some products have great affiliate resources, and some - well, not so great. However, mostly all of them have 1 things in common, and that is they include resources for your PPC campaign, usually Google's AdWords. Mistake # 1 - Too Many Keywords per Ad Group

Most people who are just getting started in internet marketing dive right into AdWords, create 1 ad group, and dump all their keywords in there. Then, they wonder why they don't have a good quality score, or are wasting money on keywords that aren't even relevant to the product they are selling. You need to limit your keywords to 20 per ad group. More than 20 usually affects your quality score, which means you end up paying more for your clicks.

Mistake # 2 - Keyword Grouping

When adding keywords to your adgroup, you must make sure that they are all very similar and contain at least one common keyword. You also should include that common keyword in your ad title and description as much as possible.

Mistake # 3 - Using The Content Network

When starting a campaign, ALWAYS remember to turn off the content network. You want to do this because you don't want to receive traffic from pages with AdSense on them - the pages are frequently plagued with click fraud, and produces irrelevant traffic. If you are not an expert, don't use the content network. Period.
