How to Get Rid of Tonsil Stones Effectively
A tonsil stone as you may be aware as you are reading this article is a small lump of yellow coloured horribleness that tastes awful and doesn't smell any better. If you suffer from them as I have in the past then you know exactly what I mean. Now you can fight back and get rid of them for good.
I remember my first experience of a tonsil stone when I was at Primary School. I was sitting in the lunch hall and out of nowhere I had this small lump of yellow stuff somehow appear in my mouth. I also remember putting it on my finger from my tongue and squeezing it between until it was nothing, and then, yes you've guessed it, smelling my fingers. It was horrid and from that moment on, every now and then I would get a nasty taste in my mouth followed by a little yellow lump of horribleness, coming up from my throat into my mouth. The worst thing is having it come up and then swallowing it, it just makes you want to gag.
It wasn't a very pleasant little story I have just told but it's how I remember my first experience of these nasty little things. I think I am lucky in a way though because they never got any worse than that, unlike some people who suffer much worse. Fortunately I don't suffer them anymore, and I hope you won't have to either. So let's get to the important part.
So what can cause a tonsil stone, and more importantly, how to get rid of tonsil stones?
Tonsil stones form in the tonsil crypt where they collect debris, including bits of food, bacteria, mucous and other things besides, all mixing together and getting on handsomely. These all combine to form the stones. I know, sounds lovely.
As I said before, I was fairly lucky in that mine were never really bad, except maybe making my breath smell, that's the worst part as bad breath is, or can be, embarrassing. This is what made me want to find out how to get rid of tonsil stones. The stones will make your breath smell because they just sit festering at the back of your throat all the while they are giving off sulfa which smells like a rotten egg or a stink bomb and I think most of us will know what they smell like. It's the same if you had a bit of meat wedged between your teeth, after a few days it would begin to smell, making your breath smell as well, not very nice. I found that if you brush your teeth after each meal and also gargle with a decent mouthwash then this can only help.
As we know, if you brush your teeth properly and regularly the less food particles remain to find their way to the tonsil crypt, also the fresher your breath will be. Another idea is to use something called acidophilus. Acidophilus is a term used to describe a group of good bacteria that are found naturally in the human body and which help with digestion. Like vitamins for example you can also purchase acidophilus supplements. As they help with digestion they will naturally help to kill off any germs or odors that can cause your tonsil stone to start in the first place.
