You Are Worth It! - Are Your Money Issues Holding You Back?
Before you read any further, I want you to say out loud "I AM WORTH IT!" Did you do it? Say it again "I AM WORTH IT!" Many of my students struggle with the concept of MONEY, especially charging for their services. No matter how life changing their services are, they devalue what they do. The majority of people I meet have this recording in their head that says over and over again "People will not want to know about this." Or "They will think I am pushy and aggressive." If you truly believe in your products or services do, then that is so far from the truth.
I used to feel exactly the same way. It was so hard for me to ask people to sign up for my Public Speaking Coaching and Seminars. I felt like I might be perceived as being forceful and aggressive, which is the exact opposite of my personality. I am very happy to tell you today that I am absolutely free of this limiting belief. If someone expresses an interest in my Public Speaking Coaching, I am committing to sharing with them my specific services and fees because I have seen first hand how my services have changed lives. I know you have had those experience too.
Here are the three principles I used to overcome this HUGE Roadblock:- The Law of Giving and Receiving - If people do not pay you for your services, how are you ever going to be able to give money to your favorite charities? If you do not have the money to spend, you are not the only one affected. Remember, spending money keeps the grocery clerk employed, the clothing store in business, and the lawn maintenance person feeding his family. I think you get the picture. Money must come in to you as well as flow out. If you are not able to ask others to purchase your services or products, then ultimately you have less to give and spend. It affects everyone!
- True Value - Giving gifts to existing clients or bonuses as an incentive to get started today are great. However, have you ever given away your services for FREE? It sounds like a great idea until you ask yourself, "What value does free have?" Yep. It is worth NOTHING. That is exactly how others will see it. Most of the things people get for FREE are seen as having very little value. If you do not value who you are and the gifts you have to share with this world - no one will. It is time to start today valuing your time, knowledge and energy, and others will do the same.
- Exceed their Expectations - Deliver! Deliver! Deliver! If you truly give your clients 100% every single time, they will love you forever. They will sing your praises to everyone you know and write you a glowing review. Go back to your old client testimonials and remember how happy they were. Does another person deserve the same opportunity to use your services and be as incredibly happy? How many people have you denied lately of this pleasure?
- Get Real with Yourself - Most individuals know what their products do, however they have never looked at how their products or services truly change lives. I have a client that works very closely with animals. She has helped animals that were about to be euthanized because of their aggression and helped them become the wonderful loving animal companions they were meant to be. If it was not for her those animals would have died. I have other students that are business coaches. They take a struggling business and make it successful. As a result, their lives have changed, thus avoiding things like bankruptcy, foreclosure on their home, personal embarrassment and so much more. Ask yourself this "If individuals do not take advantage of my services, what negative things can happen to them or their surroundings as a result?" Really think about.
