Growth hormone or HGH naturally occurs in your body and is secreted by the pituitary gland located at the base of the brain. Scientists at UC Santa Barbara have made a major discovery in how the brain encodes memories. The finding, published in the December 24 issue of the journal Neuron, could eventually lead to the development of new drugs to aid memory. The team of scientists is the first to uncover a central process in encoding memories that occurs at the level of the synapse, where neurons connect with each other. "When we learn new things, when we store memories, there are a number of things that have to happen, " said senior author Kenneth S. Kosik, co-director and Harriman Chair in Neuroscience Research, at UCSB's Neuroscience Research Institute. Kosik is a leading researcher in the area of Alzheimer's disease.

Unfortunately, not many people realize this and dismiss all treatment options for one reason or another. Many view this from cosmetic viewpoint and do not consider them necessary while many assume that they are natural and absolute nothing can be done against these aging signs.
A McMaster University researcher has found the first evidence that prolonged exposure to higher levels of the pollutants found in car exhaust fumes and industrial air pollution can lead to hospitalization for pneumonia in adults aged 65 and older. Infectious disease specialist Mark Loeb led a research team to assess the effect of long-term exposure to nitrogen dioxide and sulfur dioxide, both found in motor vehicle emissions, and fine particulate matter, found in industrial air pollution, on the risk of hospitalization for pneumonia in older adults. Loeb, a physician, is a professor in the Department of Pathology and Molecular Medicine and the Department of Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics of the Michael G.

If you are at all like me, you do not want to waste your valuable time and hard earned money trying lots of wrinkle skin care creams that are ineffective, often very expensive, and full of suspect chemical ingredients and fillers. Therefore it can be beneficial for you to understand what actually causes your wrinkles in the first place, which substances will be the most effective and should be included in the best wrinkle remover cream. Wrinkles are primarily caused for 3 reasons. Firstly a reduction of moisture holding capacity in your epidermis (outer skin layer) causes dryness and wrinkling. Secondly reduced growth of collagen and elastin proteins in your dermis (structural tissue layer), by age 50 your body produces approximately 40% less protein cells than it did when you were 25.
